The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) operates the nation’s second largest public transportation system. On an average weekday, 1.7 million rides are taken on CTA. The Society of Fire Protection Engineers was established in 1950 and incorporated as in independent organization in 1971. It is the professional society representing those practicing the field of fire protection engineering. The Society has approximately 4500 members in the United States and abroad, and 57 regional chapters. The purpose of the Society is to advance the science and practice of fire protection engineering and its allied fields, to maintain a high ethical standard among its members and to foster fire protection engineering education.

The Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) is a Pune, INDIA based research and testing institute engaged in sponsored R&D work, development testing, certification and homologation services for the automotive and auto-component industry. The men and women of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) are dedicated to the fire protection and stewardship of over 31 million acres of California's privately-owned wildlands. The California Transit Association is dedicated to shaping California's critical investment in the future of transportation.  Members include all of California's largest urban transit operators, as well as dozens of suburban and rural agencies. Also included are commuter rail agencies, transit support groups, national and international transit suppliers, and government agencies.  With support and active engagement from member organizations, the Association is focused on implementing transit-friendly policy, a balanced transportation system, and increased transit funding.

The members of the National Association of State Fire Marshals (NASFM) are the senior fire officials in the U.S. states and their chief deputies. NASFM’s mission is to protect human life, property and the environment from fire and related hazards. The NASFM Fire Research and Education Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, works with companies, government agencies, associations, academic institutions and others that strive to achieve higher levels of fire safety for consumers and for the emergency response community. The NASFM Foundation aims to further NASFM’s mission through science, innovation, research and education. IAFSS was founded with the primary objective of encouraging research into the science of preventing and mitigating the adverse effects of fires and of providing a forum for presenting the results of such research. The International Association for Fire Safety Science perceives its role to lie in the scientific bases for achieving progress in unsolved fire problems. It will seek cooperation with other organizations, be they concerned with application or with the sciences that are fundamental to our interests in fire. It will seek to promote high standards, to encourage and stimulate scientists to address fire problems, to provide the necessary scientific foundations and means to facilitate applications aimed at reducing life and property loss.

The work undertaken by SFPA The Swedish Fire Protection Associationcovers broad field of activities including a production of printed material and dissemination of information, the management and administration of training programmes, as well as all manner extensive experience and competence in these areas. Since its foundation in 1919, the association has played a vital role in on-going fire protection efforts. SFPA is co-operation very close with the 22 Regional Fire Protection Associations, and together we have the same trademark. SFPA has an important function as a pressure group to bring influence to bear on politicians, industry and commerce, public organisations and private individuals to actively prevent damage by fire. SFPA works closely with important groups in society. Among others the municipal safety services, representatives for commerce and industry, and public service.

Swedtrain is the association for Rail Industry Companies in Sweden. The members are from the production side, but also maintenance, consultant and University organisations are members.

The members are located all over Sweden and supply everything from powertrains, couplers, freight wagons, signaling systems, IT solutions and maintenance services.

Automotive Sweden is the organization that markets and circulates information about the automotive industry with the aim of maintaining West Sweden´s strong position as a competitive automotive region as well as stimulating growth in the industry. Automotive Sweden actively works to support the cluster in the region. Automotive sweden is a non-profit, governmental organization owned by regional authorities in Västra Götaland: Business Region Göteborg, the Västra Götaland Region and the Fyrbodal, Sjuhärad and Skaraborg Association of Local Authorities.

Founded in 2002, EARPA is the association of automotive R&D organisations. It brings together the most prominent independent R&D providers in the automotive sector throughout Europe. Its membership counts at present 33 members ranging from large and small commercial organisations to national institutes and universities. EARPA, as the platform of automotive researchers, aims at actively contributing to the European Research Area and the future EU Framework Programmes. In this task, EARPA seeks a close cooperation with the automotive industry, the automotive suppliers, the oil industry as well as the European Institutions and the EU Member States. EARPA is independent from any external bodies or institutions and is only funded by its members’ fees and is governed by an Executive Board and a General Assembly.
